Fitness, fun, social interaction, health, fantasy, exercise, self defence, self-confidence, weight control, strength, flexibility, coordination, balance, protection, security, interest in tradition or culture, achievement, sport, competition, relaxation, etc

Martial arts can be a great fun.

A common reason for studying martial arts is self defence - a very traditional and valid reason for learning.

 

Interest in traditional or cultural arts

Many people take great interest in the cultural or traditional aspects of martial arts training.
