Lameco Eskrima

Lameco Eskrima was created by Punong Guru Edgar Sulite who studied under the great Grandmaster Illustrisimo after mastering Arnis under several masters.  It is a synthesis of Illustrisimo Kali, Pekiti Tirsia, De Campo Uno-Dos-Tres Orehenal and Moderno Largos styles of Kali.

La stands for Long Range.  Me stands for Medium Range.  Co stands for Short Range.  Thus, Lameco Eskrima makes it a central tenet to emphasize training in all ranges.

This style is nicely structured and easily grasped by Westerners.

Originally,  Lameco was more an extension of De Campo Uno-Dos-Tres Orehenal and Moderno Largos.  However, after being influenced by Antonio ‘Tatang’ Ilustrisimo and Tony Diego,  and having refined his personal art via contact with other martial artists in USA,  Punong Guro Edgar Sulite evolved his art to be very similar to Kalis Ilustrisimo.   Indeed,  Lameco Eskrima,  in the height of its development prior to the untimely pasing of Punong Guro Edgar Sulite,  was almost a sub-set of Kalis ilustrisimo,  mixed with a little Pekiti Tersia and Doce Pares corto style.

Guro John Chow has learnt both the ‘old’ style and the ‘new’ (Kalis Ilustrisimo) style of Lameco eskrima.
